Perineal Body Reconstruction
Perineorrhaphy, Perineoplasty are the other terminology used for Perineal body reconstruction. Perineum is the area between vaginal opening and anus and this area is repaired by tightening the muscle in the perineum.
It is damaged during traumatic vaginal delivery, poor muscle tone, high impact sports,vaginal procedures, chronic straining during defecation.This repair is suggested by the doctor after examination because in these cases there are no upfront complaints faced by the lady and as the name suggests there is repair of the torn perineal muscles in this surgery. It is ideally to be performed after family is completed.
This procedure is performed under anaesthesia and is usually accompanied with vaginoplasty .There is hospital stay necessary after the procedure, painkillers and antibiotics are to be taken for 5 days.
